April 4 C.R.A.S.E. Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events, February 8, 2020 8:00 am – 12:00 pm (F.H.), Light breakfast snacks provided. The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004, provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, medical issues, and considerations for conducting drills. Additionally, we are offering a First Aid Class (STOP The BLEED), from 1:00—2:30 pm (F.H.). Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and call-to-action. Stop the Bleed is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. Open to anyone who would like to attend. It will be offered again on Saturday, April 4th. Register at this LINK or by texting CRASE to 254-265-7670 or emailing email@example.com.
